REFUGEE WORKSHOP JUNE 2011: Guidelines for Pamphlet/ Flier / Poster Presentations Detailed Instructions

At the workshop, poster boards will be placed in the room Ambassy 2 at the D` Villa Residence next to the workshop venue (room Ambassy 1). Each poster space will be numbered. Upon registration, you will be given a number indicating your poster space.

Topics and Content:
Posters can relate to any research, programme, project, creative activity undertaken by the organization relating to refugees. A poster should be complete and self supporting so that different viewers may read at their leisure. The presenter should only need to supplement or discuss particular points raised during the presentation. Remember that several people with varying degrees of interest and experience may be viewing your poster at once. Thus, it is advisable to make points as complete and brief as possible.

Tours:
Please be prepared to "talk people through" your poster, explaining briefly the main points of your organization`s activities.

Style:
We will prepare the banner for the header of the poster. Please send us your organization`s name and title of your poster by Thursday 2nd of June by 4:00pm. We will prepare the master head for the display space.

Poster Set Up:
MSRI will provide you with a table and a pin-up space. You will be responsible for setting up and removing the poster.

Cost:
MSRI will provide the display space, poster and table at no cost. Your organization will be responsible for the material to be exhibited.

Supplies:
MSRI will provide pushpins to attach your materials to the poster board, please bring any additional supplies that you think you would need.

Time:
You will put up your poster from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Wednesday the 8th of June or from 8:00am to 8:30am on the 9th of June, just before the event starts. Your actual poster session will be 1.5 hours long, from 8:30-10:00am.
You are required to be present at your poster for that entire time. Remember, this is a time to meet people and show off your organizations` work, so it is to your benefit to be present at your poster.

Handouts:
It is good to bring some additional material, flyers, or any other relevant material related to the workshop topic.
