It is that
time once again! With Ramadan in
September, followed by Hari Raya in
October, Christmas in December, and the
New Year 2009, it is that time of the
year when the kids know only too well
that they would be receiving that extra
something from their Godparents in
Malaysia.
Let us
continue the tradition set by MSRI
founder, the late Dato’ Dr. Alijah
Gordon, and be extra generous, during
this joyous season. The little we give
goes a long way for these kids and their
families, for whom poverty and neglect
have been the way of life. We are
hopeful that the needs of these kids and
their families will be remembered by you
as we ourselves prepare to celebrate.
We know
recently costs in Malaysia have risen
considerably but it is minimal in
comparison with Lebanon, where after the
2006 war, costs have risen by 40%, not
taking into account the latest round of
price increases due to petroleum prices.
The Social
Workers who themselves are refugees
living in the same camps, are employed
by BAS with minimum wages, to run the
Centres and to look after the welfare of
the children and their families. It is
hoped that you will extend your
generosity to them too.

and is absolutely not limiting. Every
contribution is subject to a 20 percent
administration charge.
