We would like
to express our deep thanks to your solidarity against the offensive attack
of the Israeli against Lebanon and the Lebanese and Palestinian people.
More than
hundreds killed and one thousands are injured. The attack on bridges, roads,
airports and ships are cutting the country into pieces. Thousands of people
are fleeing the country, and thousands are displaced to safer places,
occupying schools and gardens. Even in the so called safe parts of the city
we can hear the bombs throughout the day and night, and electricity and
water supplies are tenuous.
We call on you
to protest at Israeli embassies and consulates, as we hear some groups are
already doing. The Israeli government must be held accountable for it is
criminal and terrorist actions here and in Palestine.
Concerning our
camps, People living in the suburbs of the camps have been affected by the air
raids; our center in Baalbak was partially affected by an attack on a petrol
station nearby.
Some Lebanese
displaced families are living in UNRWA schools in Rashidieh camp and in Beirut.
Many
Palestinians from Shatila and Bourj el-Barajneh who are living outside the
camps are fleeing to the center of the camp and the UNRWA schools, and
others are leaving the camps.
Our centers are
opened and some of the staff can reach their working areas; others are
trapped. We are organizing to help to deal with the effects of the invasion. We
are calling on you, brothers and sisters in the rest of the world for help.
Most
Palestinian people in the camps are daily workers; they need medicines and
food to survive.
We urgently
need financial aid to buy the necessary supplies to help the displaced
people here.
These are
difficult days for everyone in Lebanon, but we are confident that with your
support we can overcome this situation as we had done before.
