Topic: Southern Thailand: Three Southern border provinces
Khairil Annuar Khalid was born in 1961 in Penang. He graduated from UITM in 1984. Khairil has more than 25 years of experience in local and international humanitarian work. Among the countries he has been involved include Central Asia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Chechnya, Afghanistan, Gaza, Iraq, Aceh and Thailand. He is presently the Regional Director of Malaysian Relief Agency.
He has been working in South Thailand since the late 1990's with various local NGOs on the conflict in South Thailand regarding issues of human rights, orphans, victims' families and conflict resolutions. He was present during the tragedy of Air Tayar Mosque massacre.
