| PURPOSE: |
The position of Tutor supports MSRI’s educational program for refugees.
The tutoring program is designed to:
- Help refugee children advance in their studies
- Help refugee adults improve their English skills
- Help refugee children and adults to acquired or improve their computer skills
- Supervise and participate with refugee children on recreational activities
- Provide art, dance, music classes

| KEY RESPONSABILITIES: |
- Work with assigned refugee(s) to provide assistance related to school work. English language, or computer classes.
- Assist in supervising refugee children while their mothers are attending lessons or meetings.
- Support MSRI in activities related to recreational activities with refugees.

| Length of Appointment: |
Tutors may start working on February 2011. |
| Time commitment: |
The Tutor position requires a minimum commitment of two hours per week. In addition, each volunteer must attend an orientation. |
| Qualifications: |
Eligible candidates for the Tutor positions include volunteers over 18 years of age. Junior volunteers (under 18) need to fill the junior application form and get their guardian/parents to sign before they are approved. |
| Support Provided: |
Orientation for this position will be provided. In addition, MSRI`s personnel will be available to answer questions and provide other assistance as needed. |
